A wish.
This started of as a wish as we never thought it’s going to happen. It’s been raining for days and couple of storm alerts all over the country but we dared to push through and booked it rain or shine. Luckily, weather turned out fine. Sun was out, it was perfect!
The cool breeze of the atlantic ocean, birds flying all over, thrilling rides..
What more can you ask for?
It was an hour and so of travel time from where we are staying so we decided to have lunch first at around 12PM at Harry Ramsden’s where we had Fish & Chips. I specifically had Cod, it was delicious! After lunch we went for a walk along the beach. I really love the beach, the feel of the wind touching your face. It was a calming feeling. Life is Good indeed.
We then decided to go to Pleasure Beach for the much awaited rides. It took us roughly an hour just to get there. Train and carriage are also available for those who doesn’t want to walk. You can also rent a bike for 7 pounds per day if you want. You can also swim in the beach if you want. Interesting shops and restaurants are all over, different amusement rides and arcade halls are all over as well.
In Pleasure Beach, unlimited rides costs 30 pounds and we got it free. Woot!
Upon entering the park, we went straight to Ice Blast. In this ride, suspense builds up as you wait for the ride to catapult you up with speed of 80 mph and at the top you got a stunning view of Pleasure Beach. Next stop, we went to Infusion. It’s the first suspended roller coaster in world to be suspended completely over water. This thrilling ride will amaze you with its five loops.
Third Stop. Who wouldn’t want to feel the rush with the fastest and biggest roller coaster in UK? Big One it is. It’s about 235 ft high which drops to an incline angel of 65 degrees. The total length of this ride measures more than a mile. Expect to have long lines all the time as it features one of the best view of the beach just before the drop.
Fourth Stop. Revolution, lucky us it was just opened after recent improvement. What makes this ride exciting is the backward loop. Grrr… G-Force!
Fifth Stop. Avalanche. It’s UK’s only bobsled coaster wherein you can ride into your own bobsled alone or with someone as you go along the twist and turns with top speed of 50mph. Whew!
Last but definitely not the least. Valhalla. Not sure why it’s called as such but you have to prepare to get wet on this ride. It’s the world’s biggest indoor dark ride. I must say it’s really dark and you wouldn’t know what to expect and you’ll definetely get drenched in water whether you like it or not. Disposable ponchos are sold at 1.50 if you think it would help you.
Whilst here, we also tried the freshly baked donuts. They are gorgeous, for just 1.75 you’ll get 3 donuts. Yum! One of the best donut I’ve tasted. Highly recommended.
