Batil Patong is Tuguegarao’s own version of stir-fried noodles served with an egg topping and a side serving of egg drop soup. This is also served with loads of onions, chicharon, sliced pork, cabbage and beef strips. This dish won’t be complete without soy sauce, chilli and Calamansi. Almost in every in corner in Tuguegarao you’ll find Panciterias claiming to have the best Batil Patong. The best way to know is by trying it. Enjoy!
Essentials for making your very own Pancit Batil Patong
Palaui Island lies off the northwestern part of San Vicente, in the municipality of Santa Ana, Cagayan Province. Palaui Island was declared as a National Marine Reserve in August 28, 1994 encompassing an area of 7,145 hectares (17,660 acres). Because of its remoteness, Palaui Island is home to different species of rattan and similar commercially valuable timber producing wood species and is the sanctuary for 90 migratory birds.
The northern point of the island is called Cape Engaño where on the summit of the hill lie the ruins of Cape Engaño Lighthouse. Engaño Cove or Siwangag Cove is a small cove southwest of the lighthouse where supplies for the station were previously landed. Today, small vessels can find good anchorage in this protected cove, except by northwesterly and westerly winds. A trail and a 229-step concrete stairway from the cove leads the travelers to the lighthouse.
The Dos Hermanos rocky islets lie off Cape Engaño, in the northern point of Palaui.
The Port of San Vicente in Santa Ana, Cagayan, situated between Palaui Island and the coast of Luzon, is the jump-off point for crossing the channel to Punta Verde (Point Verde) on Palaui Island, or heading to Engaño Cove, a little further to the north. The hike from Punta Verde, the southeast tip of Palaui, to Cape Engaño takes about 3.5 to 4 hours of hike through beautiful verdant scenery. Primitive camping is allowed at the lighthouse vicinity.

Nangaramoan Beach. a highly recommended place to relax, unwind, escape from city life and feel the wonders of nature. This is located in Sta. Ana, which is at the tip of the province of Cagayan. The beach is very accessible via commute(tricycle) or private vehicle because of the newly cemented road leading to the beach area. The beach is undergoing development with its construction of bigger cottages and accommodations for those who want to stay overnight.

Our Lady of Piat (formally: Nuestra Señora de Piat) is a 16th-century Roman Catholic icon of the Blessed Virgin Mary and the central figure at the altar of her shrine in Piat in the province of Cagayan, Philippines. Locally known as the patroness of the town, it is one of the most venerated Marian images of Mary in the Republic of the Philippines and is referred to as the Mother of Cagayan. The image of Our Lady of Piat is one of the most revered images among Catholics. Flocking every day to the shrine are devotees queueing to touch the image’s feet seeking her intercessions.
